If you haven't heard of this, what planet have you been living off of? Who doesn't like a British guy who lives in Australia that gives really harsh reviews on games? If you haven't check this out now! I command you! www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation

It's weird that I haven't comment on this yet or anyone for that matter...then again 2009 was a very dead year for this forum. Anyways, I checked out the review of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I never played the game, but I was kinda threw off by the whole icy hell-world. I know they wanted to go for something different, but is didn't seem "spooky" to me (than again, nothing really does). It was more...pretty.
I might get it in the future though. I always wanted to play the first SH.

To be honest, I think it would be best to stick with the original Silent Hill game as opposed to getting Shattered Memories. I downloaded the digital copy on my PS3 a while back and I'm still playing through it. From what I've seen of Shattered Memories, the spookyness factor that made the original game such a hit is not all there. Mostly it's just cosmetic makeup and a few new features that don't really amount to much. From what I've played of the original game, it really is bone chilling and spooky, more so than any Resident Evil game to date. Sure the graphics in the game are way outdated by today's standards (unfortunately), but to be honest, that's what makes the game all the more spooky. The limited draw distance and some of the quirky camera angles in the PlayStation version really helped. You never knew what was coming at you at any given time, and as such, you were always on edge. Honestly, if you can track down a copy of the original PlayStation version, I would go for that. If not, then go for Shattered Memories.
