Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

Has anyone watched this yet? Macdaddy and me were watching a few episodes on Youtube. King Dedede is King Dedederp to me - obviously he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

I don't know much about Kirby, but I didn't think he was dumb. I knew he was quiet and friendly. In the show though, Kirby isn't very bright. In addition, the show doesn't really seem to be about him. He's more like a supporting character (least the episodes I saw). The show is either about King Dedederp or Tiff (a very annoying character).

Check it out on Youtube, or see if it's on Netflicks. I can say this show is better written than the Mario and Zelda cartoons, and there's some good one-liners in the shows.

I remember when this show was on TV. It was on 4Kids TV (originally Fox Box) at that time. The original Anime, Hoshi no Kābī, is, in fact, a children's Anime, so this was geared toward young children in terms of context and dialogue. Still and all, when you put it in the hands of 4Kids (a.k.a. the Anime fan's greatest enemy) you're going to run into the obvious problems, such as dialogue changes, character changes, and other edits. Granted this wasn't edited too heavily, but if you look up comparison images, you'll see what they did. Writing wise, it's slightly better because they didn't change too much of the original, but some of it is very tedious. Really, you should also try to find the original Anime Hoshi no Kābī and see what is different and what is not.

This isn't on Netflix, nor is anything that 4Kids has produced, by the way.

Todd and I have been watching more of it lately.

Kirby is a baby in the show, which explains why he isn't that bright (but he does show he can be smart at times). Of course, he's the most likeable character in the show. I like Escargoon sometimes because of some of his one liners (he's an ass-snail, still). Dedederp - well, with him, I think it's one of the cases where he's the type of character you love to hate. He's a big troll/assclown and a derptard, but he can be amusing. Though his trolling/assclowness get old and annoying quickly.

Oh, and Meta-Knight is cool. Tiff can be smart at times, but she's still annoying and she wears the pants in the show (yes, if she married in the show, her husband would be whipped).

Overall, it's a decent kid show.
