As I mentioned in my last thread, parents bitch about Peanut Butter Cheerios because their precious little snowflakes has peanut allergies. Therefore parents tried to get foods with peanuts in it, banned.
I know people always have something to bitch about (and always will), but the ones that annoy me are the ones that try to control everything. Yes, your snowflake(s) could die from a peanut allergy, but you know what? You be a parent and drill it into their head that it can harm them. Teach them not to accept snacks from their friends (or others). If they are at an event or party, tell them not to eat foods that they are not sure what it is or go ask somebody that does. Really simple. Also labels on foods are your friends and not just there on the box/package to look pretty.
When I was a kid, there was some rare cases where I knew a couple of kids that were allergic to chocolate. These kids knew and let people know about it. Ages were between 5 - 8. Drill it into your kids head and they will know. It's like teaching them don't drink things for cleaning inside homes, or as they get older, don't leave your drink unattained in a bar.
It could just be me, but it seems these peanut allergies or just coming out of nowhere now (well, started a few years ago). I know there's more kids with these allergies now, but I'm sure there's a lot of parents that are just making it worse than what it is and just wanting something to bitch about (like always).
Now there's this issue with school foods...and I won't touch much on that subject. I'd say make your kids lunch if you can and that's whether they have any food allergies or not. School food is nasty period. Most of the time I skipped lunch and didn't eat until I got home, or I brought my own food.
