Seriously though, they did say the chances of those 26 pieces hitting anyone is small...but it could still happen. I do wonder if it does actually hit someone, does NASA/Feds have to pay for that person medical bills? What about their car or house if it got damaged by their falling satellite? Hell, an airplane could get hit by it (even smaller chance getting hit by one of the pieces...maybe).
I'm not trying to scare anyone, but I am curious. I tried to look up that answer and didn't see anything about it. I know it's been mentioned you can't keep a piece of the satellite if it lands in your yard.
