Movie Trailer? So yeah...I dunno about this. Seems like they're going for a more "realistic" feel to the movie...like all the bad guys are just crazy whackjobs that have no powers. Some people made the comments about Scorpion about him being a "good guy". He worked for evil, yes, but he's mainly neutral, and that what it shows in the trailer. He didn't care either way. I really don't know what to say really. At first I thought this was fan-made, but it's too good to be fan-made (plus the actors give that away)... I did some research and this what Wiki says about it. So it's unknown if's it's a trailer for a movie or for an upcoming video game. It claims Ed Boon didn't even know about it. Hmm...

If you look closely at the Wiki article, it says that MK Rebirth is nothing but a short film, so it's not a trailer to a full length feature film at all. The Director, Kevin Tancharoen actually did this short film with the intent of selling it to WB to pitch in his vision of the film reimagining. Yeah, I'm not really buying this new reimagining, and I'm betting no one at WB is going to buy it either...unless they're really that desperate to make a profit out of their newly acquired license.

Yeah, I had to read it again when my brain wasn't in La La Land. I'm glad it's not going to become a movie. I like to see a revamp of the MK movies, but this is not the way to go, though it should have a rated-R rating. Least the short film had the gore in it.

I agree. I didn't like the feel to the short film and I hope the idea never makes it into a new Mortal Kombat movie.

Well, it seems they are going to be making a web series of this short film: www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/23052"Bloody Disgusting learned that director Kevin Tancharoen - who directed the awesome online short - will return behind the camera for a 10-episode web series dedicated to the popular video game. Penned by Tancharoen, Todd Helbing, and Aaron Helbing, star Michael Jai White leads the cast as "Major Jackson 'Jax' Briggs. Shooting will take place in Vancouver this coming February. Contested expected to be cast are: Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Durak, Kabal, Kitana/Mileena and of course Scorpion. No release date is planned, and there's no word on that R-rated remake. The only plot details we could conjure up is that a few Earthlings will fight to save the planet from Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung, two Gods ruling over parallel universes, or something to that effect."

Oh boy. Here we go. The short film wasn't all that good, and now it's going to be a web series? Has the world gone mad?

Here's the first Esp: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s6UiEuCYXA&feature=youtu.beI did watch it because it is MK. As long as it's not a movie. Dark and gory is fine, that's what MK is all about, but it's also about unrealistic shit (one of the reasons MK is loved). This series is going for the realism.
