Yeah, a few weeks ago I saw on a News site about a young boy played with a gun that was loaded...it went off, shooting his baby brother and killing him. It's a story you hear about a lot, yet parents never learn.

And it's a shame that parents never learn, too. You would think by now that the message is clear as daylight to not let your kids play with guns or near a drainage ditch or a spillway.

Time for another edition of Parents Today. This one being one of the most saddest stories that has come out of my metropolitan area. Right across the river from downtown St. Louis, Missouri lies the decaying, decadent, crime-ridden warzone known as East St. Louis, Illinois. Seventy years ago, this used to be a good city to be in. But then deindustrialization happened during the 60s and the city went to shit since then. Today, it's almost like walking into the Fallout games, with numerous scenes of urban decay, urban prairies, and a major increase in crime and poverty (I often don't like to drive through this city because it's so dangerous even though I have to soometimes). This is where my next story takes place, and it really shows how far down this city has sunk to: www.fox2now.com/news/ktvi-east-st-louis-two-kids-killed-yokeia-smith-090211,0,3375777.story Watch the video for the full story. We still don't know why she did this, but it's horrifying nonetheless that something so senseless such as this would happen.

These are all bad, but the one where the father killed his son made me sick:
He said when he put his head out by the side of the road it was so the mother would see it when she came by," Silverii told The Associated Press. "He wanted her to feel stupid when she saw the head."
Oh. my God............

Here's a real winner. This woman is suing her son for parental support You know, after she abandoned him when he was 15.
