'Fat' Report Cards

Schools are now doing reporting how big you are on report cards. Pretty much telling the parents you have fat kids...all because of the BMI scales. The girl in the video wasn't even fat. She was tall and looked athletic. Muscle does weigh more than fat, and a lot of people seem to forget that or to stupid to understand.

You know I can understand about people whining about all the snack machines in school...when I was in high school, there was around 4-5 snack machines that were loaded with cookies, chips and candy bars; however, with the shit the school cooked, it was actually better to eat those snacks...

Pizza tasted frozen, chicken was still bloody, and there was some other stuff that...I really didn't know what the hell it was. Anyways, back on the subject, it would be best to bring food from home, but telling parents their kid is fat is bullshit. Well, the BMI scale is. You can't go by that. Every person is different - shape wise, but in that case of that girl, she was not fat.

They really need to just stick with normal report cards. There's already a problem in the world where girls (and guys) think they are very fat and starve themselves. Especially in teens. This 'fat' report cards will make it worse. Yes, it sets these kids up to be anorexic or depress at an early age (I think it mentions kids will be starting getting labeled at 6).

Wonderful, is it not? Not only students hear their peers calling them fat, but now the school is in on it too.

I'm confused about this, so if someone can explain, that would be nice. I think it's a bill for the government to look at your BMI...and what fine you for being overweight?


I can not tell you how serious I am if they find us another planet to live on in the future (I doubt it), I would seriously move there...than again the stupid people might move there.

It goes to show how much America is that much concerned with image. How much more should we tarnish the youth of American I wonder? It seriously makes no sense whatsoever that someone would want to spend money on this, when that money could be going to improve schools.

Back in my school we had only two snack machines that were shock loaded with junk food. We didn't have any kind of soda machine I don't think, and thank God for it! Our lunches weren't as bad as yours were, but they did have their moments as with any school cafeteria lunch. The pizza's were heavily soggy sometimes, the chicken was sometimes still raw in some spots...practically the only thing that was cooked well enough was the combination taco/nachos that we got from the secondary line. I got free lunch tickets every year I was in school so at least if I was going to eat not-so-good food, I wasn't going to pay for it. But getting back on the subject, why doesn't the government use the wasted money on these idiotic report cards to improve the quality of the food in school cafeterias. Surely if kids eat healthy foods whey wouldn't turn out this way, right?

As for the BMI bill, well...that's from a conservative agenda site, and I don't know about you, I for one am the least bit conservative so I don't believe any of the baloney this site puts out. I've read through a good deal of it, and I see it as pretty much a conservative scare tactic...one that fears a governmental takeover and all that crap they like to spew. I would look this up somewhere else and get some non-biased facts on it because the way this is written, it's written to scare people with only half a brain to think.

I really didn't know what it was about, that's why I said I was confuse. My friend posted that link to when she was talking about this and it confused her too. Anyways, I'll take your word for it, but there are a lot of scare tactic sites out there. Hell, a few of my friends on FB fall into these scare tactics and say, "You must post this on your wall!" Blah.

My high school add 3-4 soda machines and two water bottle ones. Or sport drink ones, I forgot, but I'm not kidding when I mention how many snack/soda machines we had. I don't know if they still have that now though. I remember them being pricey, so I hardly used them, and it was rare that I ate school food. I didn't eat breakfast, so I pretty much went half the day without eating. Sometimes I would bring stuff from home to eat or one of my friends would buy me something from the snack or soda machine (which I never ask for).

Yeah. I know sometimes it's the parents fault, but schools need to take a good look at their food before they start judging parents.
