Well, you need to remember that video could be a beta/demo, so the graphic can still get better; however, they are kinda going with a 2D look this time. Control-wise, anyways.

Here's the plot for the new MK (Todd mentioned a video of Ed Boon talking about it, but I never did find it, but I found what Ed said on Wiki).

"...Raiden is about to be killed by Shao Kahn, and just before he delivers the last blow, he [Raiden] sends a mental message to his earlier self, so the camera rewinds back to Mortal Kombat 1. The Raiden from back then gets a message and he doesn't know what's going on, but he knows something bad's going to happen, and the game spans Mortal Kombat 1, 2, and 3, retelling the story with an enlightened Raiden, and he's changing the course of things, so everything you've seen happen before – Liu Kang winning, the guys turning into cybernetic ninjas, are changed around, so you might see a character become cybernetic who wasn't before, and so you see a different version [of events]."

I think Jade is going to make it in. She's Kitana's friend and she was in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Raiden and Shao Kahn have been confirmed. Whether they're playable are not, who knows. I think almost everyone you mentioned on your list will make it. I'm not sure about Noob, Rain, and Ermac though. Probably in a DLC though, but we'll see.

Oh, and Cage has already been confirmed to be in it. ;p

That's right! I missed that! I don't know why I missed that. I remember seeing screenshots of Johnny Cage. How come they haven't confirm Sonya, Jax, and Liu Kang yet? I would have seen them get confirmed first before Mileena, Kitana, Cyrax, Sector, and the others.

Don't forget Kano, he's a part of the MK1-MK3 storyline. To answer you question, I'm as clueless as you are, but there's no doubt Sonya, Liu Kang, and Jax will be in it.

Yes I did forgot Kano. but I never liked him anyways! There will be no hard feelings if he doesn't make it in the game! ^^

Sindel is confirmed, and so is Ermac. And those who have a PS3, you will be able to play the character from God of War, Kratos. I know that's old news, but for those who haven't heard yet...sorry for not posting anything for awhile.

I'm interested in seeing what the team does with Kratos. I'm not THAT big a GoW fan, but I do like the games and what they had to offer, so it should be interesting.

I loved the new MK! But I really hate how the females are design. I do like Jade's classic outfit. That looks better on her than the newer ones. Same for Mileena and Kitana.
