According to this article ( ds.ign.com/articles/985/985550p1.html ), it appears that Mortal Kombat may be looking to Warner Bros as its new owner. What this means for the series is pretty unknown, but I don't recall Warner having a stellar reputation for games. Personally, I was hoping for a more respectable company to pick up the series like Konami or Capcom, but I guess there's still 30 days for competitors to place their offers.

Well now, since it's been about eleven months since this has been posted, let's shed some new prospect on this. We've kind of seen in the past that Warner Bros.' reputation for games hasn't been the best in the world. Let's face it...a lot of games that they developed were pretty bad to say the least. But given the timeframe of this post and today, the new Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE for short) has generally been a pretty impressive publisher. I mean, it was them that did give us one of the top contenders for Game of the Year last year (that would be Batman: Arkham Asylum and if you haven't played it yet, go out and get it now...it's that damn awesomeage). So given that, I would say that that MK license is is good hands, but then again, it's up to what the license holder does with the license, and who said licensee decides to give developmental duties to. So as of now, I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet. Let's just wait and see what WBIE will do with MK.
