I was surprised that E3 started today. I thought it started tomorrow, but it was just a press conference. Microsoft revealed a lot, or at least that's what Todd told me. They mentioned they are working on a new Forza game, which reminds me I need to play 4 more. X-Box StuffI really wasn't interested in what Microsoft had to say. I'm looking forward to hearing about and seeing the Wii-U.

Here's a recap of Tuesday at E3. Today was about the Nintendo. I'm not sure who's up next tomorrow. I'm am surprised Nintendo didn't mention anything about the new SSB. I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting some mentioned of it - since last E3 they said they were going to work on a new SSB soon. The new Wii U controller. I meant to post this last night but I forgot.

E3's press conferences weren't all that spectacular. For me, Sony stole the show as they showed off several new IPs that their second party studios are working on (such as Heavy Rain's developer working on a totally new game, and Naughty Dog's new game "The Last of Us"), and even though their Wonderbook concept is what mainly brought their press conference down, it is nice to see Sony take on new challenges to bring entertainment to a wider audiences. Not to mention that Sonny loves to give back to their fans with them offering every single attendee of their press conference a full free year of PlayStation Plus (which is totally worth it) and just Tuesday giving current subscribers access to twelve free full games to download (seven retail titles and five PSN titles...and of the twelve, I downloaded seven of them).
Nintendo was a big letdown for a number of reasons. Okay, sure they have a much more impressive hardware, and they definitely have some support to back it up with: Ubisoft with ZombiU, Assassin's Creed III...WB Interactive with Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition...EA with Mass Effect 3 (a game I can't stand, but everyone else loves)...and others. But, what about the stellar first party games? What happened to those? No Metroid. No F-Zero. AND NO STAR FOX!!! What did we get instead? A spin-off combo of Wii Sports and Wii Play known as Nintendo Land. I'm not for minigame type of games, but I'm sure someone will find some appeal out of it, but I just want my Star Fox, man! That's my major complaint about Ninendo's conference. Very lacking this year.
As for Microsoft, well...I just didn't bother with them because I pretty much knew what was coming...Halo this, Gears of War that, and more of Microsoft heavily relying on third-party devs keeping them alive (and believe me, even that's barely nowadays). The Xbox SmartGlass? Just a Windows tablet...nothing special about it. The only thing I could see actually being worth while out of that whole fiasco was the new Splinter Cell (which looks to be exclusive to the console as the last one was, but I can't fully confirm that) which looks about decent.
That's my take on it.

Yeah, I didn't think there was anything special about this E3 either. Todd agrees with you Foxx, and said Sony won this year's E3. I didn't pay any attention to Sonya or to Microsoft. I was hoping for some news on a new Prince of Persia game, but I wasn't expecting it. The same goes for a Left 4 Dead 3 because they're still trying to see what works in L4D2 with the mutations. However, there is a DLC for Skyrim: ES ...I haven't even beaten the game yet. Yeah...I need to get back into playing it.
I know Ubisoft is still working on Beyond Good & Evil 2, but they stated last year that it won't come out until the next console.
I wasn't excepting any Star Fox news for the Wii U. I knew Nintendo would just pull out more third party games, along with a new Mario game and more information about the Wii U. I was hoping for some news on the new Smash Bros. but Todd said they haven't started working on that game until March of this year. Still it would've been nice to know a tiny bit of info on it if you're (Nintendo) going to bring it up like last year at E3.
Yeah, to sum it up: Meh.
