So it looks like I will not be getting a PS4 either. Here's why. I'm not going to pay for an online account to play games. They mentioned on the page that it is from anonymous sources, so it may not be true, but if it is, PS4 screw themselves over again.

These are nothing but rumors currently. As of now, neither Microsoft or Sony are even interested in making new consoles, and they've already stated this before. So I'm not going to believe any rumors until Sony or Microsoft make official announcements on something new, which won't be for a while, I believe. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 have yet to run their full courses so introducing something here and now would be a huge mistake for both companies.
And the rumor about paying for an online account to play games (which, no, you're not paying for an account), that's something called Online Pass, and it was developed by Electronic Arts in an effort to get people to buy games brand new (meaning that they're trying to kill off used game sales because, guess what, buying a game used doesn't put money in their pocket). What it does is it gives you a code in the game that will grant you access to online gameplay as well as a few other exclusive unlocks. If you buy the game used, you'll be completely locked out of those things until you pay whatever the fee is (around $10 or so) to unlock all of that. And the PlayStation consoles aren't the only ones affected by this. This affects Xbox 360 games as well, and rumors have already been going around that Microsoft are doing something similar with their next console. This will also affect the Wii U as well.
