If you never played any of the games before you are missing out. my favorite one so far is RE5.

I played the remake on GameCube and didn't like the controls, so that kept me away from the series. Not really a fan of the RE story anyways.

RE2 and RE4 are thus far the best in the series. I did not like RE5 worth anything. The annoyance for me is that they try to force multiplayer on you in a lot of ways, and since I'm a solo gamer, that was just a garbled mess Capcom put together.
