I knew about this for a month now, but I haven't been posting much (obviously). Anyways, there is a new BloodRayne game in the works called Betrayal. From what I've heard, it will have nothing to do with BR1 & 2.
I will be honest, I don't like how it looks, and I feel it takes everything away from what BloodRayne is. It's not that's because it's in 2D, it's because of the side scrolling screen that has a lot of things going on at once. I never cared for games like that.
It seems like it would have been cool idea for a a Nintendo 3DS or a PSP, but for the PS3/PC/360? That's just my thoughts for now. I may try to play it because it is BloodRayne...but this wasn't the right approached to bring the series back, in my opinion.
The series sadly wasn't never that big, so you take a series like this and make it 2D with side scrolling? I mean, I could be wrong - it actually could be a lot of fun.
I'm just a disappointed because I've been waiting for a BloodRayne 3 that continued the story from 2 since it left on a cliffhanger, and I was looking forward to see what they could do with the graphics, gameplay, and how much Rayne had changed (both in design and personality).
Meh, I'm just rambling. Those who are a fan of the series, what do you think?
Oh, here's the trailer for it:

Honestly, I didn't think too much of it when I first saw it. The art style does look pretty decent, but it doesn't look like it has that BloodRayne feel to it. Plus, it went down in ESRB rating from what I've been reading (last I checked, it got a T rating), so that means a lot less of what made the original games more fun.

Okay, from one review that I read of this game...which, let's be honest, it was a GameInformer review...they game the game a 7, so I'm assuming that there was something good about it. I read that the game gets harder and harder as you progress. In fact, in the later stages, it's near impossible to get an A rating. That's not to say it's not enjoyable...it just gets terribly hard. Also, it may or may not be true, but Rayne might have a different voice actress than before (her voice in the main two games was provided by Laura Bailey). Not sure if that's true, but come game release we'll find out, won't we?
At any rate, the game his both XBLA and PSN next week (Wednesday on XBLA and Tuesday for PSN...and I know the websites all say the XBLA version would be released this week, but as I look on Xbox Marketplace, it's not there, so that leads me to believe it's a simul-release). And I'm not sure how many PS3 owners are here, but at any rate, PS3 owners who are PlayStation Plus subscribers can still pre-order the game through PSN Play for 20% off the regular price and get the two free themes and virtual item for your PlayStation Home avatar.

Been seeing good reviews for this game, despite it'd difficulty level. I downloaded the demo of this on my PS3 a while ago, and they're right. It's bloody hard. Still fun though.
Again, this is available now for download on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $15 ($12 if you're a PlayStation Plus subscriber).

I agree, but Betrayal isn't that bad. It is hard and I got frustrated to the point where I'm' not going to play it for a few days.
