I've been playing more of Pokemon Pearl lately again and was just curious for people that have it (or any other Pokemon game) who their favorite minion...er, pokemon was. So far mine are Murkrow, Ponyta (fire power ftw!), and Grotle (my first pokemon, well, in its baby form).

I like Spindas, each one has a different spot pattern so it's fun to try and collect all the variations. Plus, they're very common so they're easy to get and easy to trade for. XD
I also love Zigzagoons since they're cute and can pick up rare items like Rare Candy, which is always useful to get. Meowths are fun too since they can create money in battle, which was really useful in older installments of the game where you couldn't rechallenge trainers you've beaten, so money wasn't easy to come by.
Magnemites make me laugh, I dunno why, they're just funny. And Koffings are cute with their dopey smiles. XD
For battling, I gotta go with Ludicolo, they have a good variety of attacks, being a water/grass stype, and from those moves you can make a good healer/tank. Nidoking is another fun one to battle with since it has a wide variety of abilities too, and is pretty strong. I also like Roserade, Flareon, and Swampert.
The one pokemon I hate is Swablu though, I hate those. The only good Swablue, or Alteria, is a fired one with honey-mustard dipping sauce. XP

Since I've been playing Pokemon Diamond, I've come accustomed to some of the ones I've been training. So far, my Pachirisu, Floatzel, Luxray, and Infernape (my first Pokemon) are ones that never let me down. I like Noctowl because I can utilize both flying and psychic attacks which works well against fighting types (and I hate fighting types, too). I like all ice types, too (even though they're hard to work with sometimes). Back when I had Pokemon Crystal, I mainly trained ice-type Pokemon, among all the others that I managed to catch. Not much this time around. I'm trying to be more versatile with my types, though I haven't forgotten my icy roots.
