I also will mention the Epilogue, and there are ending spoilers, so obviously don't read if you don't what anything spoil.
I have beaten the game a couple of days ago and I enjoyed it. I still say the Sands of Time is my favorite. There was something about it that made it special; however, I like the Prince's personality better in this game.
In SoT, he was witty, funny, and charming, but the Prince in this one is a smart ass, funny, and witty. Elika adds to it with her own witty remarks. Those two are go very well together.
I like how in the game where you screw up, Elika is there to save you, and you don't have to restart the level again. It's like using the Dagger of Time, except...you need sand, and Elika has not limit on her powers, so make all the mistakes you want because if you're using the 360 controls, it's going to happen.
I really like how when you restore a land and it's all nice and pretty. No enemies - you can just wandering around collecting light seeds and trying to unlock achievements.
I really don't have any major complains to this game. The green power plate (Breath of Ormazd) can be annoying at times thanks to the controls. Also later on in the game, sometimes you'll get chase by this black stuff (like a nest of bees chasing you) and you sometimes have a section where it's like black tar that will end up screwing you over if you don't move quickly. When it's your first time going through the game, this can be a problem because sometimes you don't know where to go and you need a minute to study what you need to do, so this can be annoying. Yes, you can get Elika to use her power to guide you, but even then, you still need to study the path you need to take.
There's also tapping buttons at the right time. The screen does not give you enough time to tap a button in time. Sometimes I can time it right (like the sword battles), but half of the time I suck at it, like when an enemy is about to finish you off because it'll tell you to tap a different button each time, and it'll give you only a second to do that. If Elika has to save you, it heals the enemy as well. I've seen on Youtube that even "pros" can't even master this at times.
Now let's talk about the bosses in this game. The Hunter and the Warrior King don't really give me that much trouble. I find them easy, and I fought the Hunter last. Now the Concubine is a bitch to fight, she was the second boss I fought after the Warrior King. She can be very annoying, but it's a challenge.
There's the other boss, the Alchemist - he can be a pain too. He heals, so you'll need to use those big combos to kill him quickly.
Then there's the dark God (Ahriman)...who actually wasn't that hard. The final battle though, where you have to escape him, can be annoying, but again, not really that hard.
I thought the ending was good, but at the same time...the Prince made a dumb ass move. Elika dies to seal Ahriman up...but the Prince cuts all the trees that had the power to seal Ahriman, and cuts the last one where it stored a light seed to bring Elika back to life...now Ahriman is free again.
Now this is where the Epilogue takes place. The Prince takes Elika to some...temple/tomb, I dunno what it is, and Elika is pretty pissed off. I can see why the Prince did what he do; he loves Elika, but it's a slap in the face to Elika considering all the trouble they went through to seal the god up. Though the Prince said Ahriman would have returned anyways, and if she was dead, there would be no one else to stop Ahriman. The Prince could have been right. I don't know.
Anyways, the witty and fun chats that go on between the Prince and Elika in the first part of the game? It's not there anymore. Sure, the Prince still has some funny remarks, but Elika is bitter and doesn't really say much.
As for the gameplay...it's the same. Same enemies and pretty much the same thing, except more annoying when it comes to the corrupted things on the wall, and it's very short. I was excepting it to be short, but I was hoping for some new things, and there isn't.
On the X-Box marketplace, this costs $10, I'd say don't waste you're money, unless you want to unlock more achievements.
Sorry for any typos, I will be going through here and editing here and there.
